Lama Hourani has been designing and producing jewelry since 2000; creating art-to-wear pieces that subtly combine elements of heritage, architecture and archeology within a contemporary framework. Lama has succeeded in creating a luxury brand with a cultural depth that fuses her Jordanian identity with the world.
Hourani draws on personal experiences and emotions to infuse her pieces with humanity. Each piece is inspired by a place, a time or a story, all of which are amply reflected in every aspect of design; from the overarching concept all the way to materials and textures used. Hourani was honored as a Young Global Leader (YGL) in 2012 by the World Economic Forum for her contribution to society; she also received the award for Best Innovative Design by The Middle East Watches and jewelry. Her creations have been exhibited Museums and galleries around the world in addition to being published in a regional jewelry coffee table books.
Lama mainly utilizes 925 Silver, finished with yellow or rose gold plating to highlight her multi-dimensional pieces; oxidation also plays a major role for an edgier appeal. Fusing handpicked semi precious stones and fresh water pearls within her jewelry. All materials used are natural and are sourced ethically from around the globe by the designer.
